Student programs and opportunities
Our curriculum includes a comprehensive range of extra programs and opportunities for students which include:
- An extensive Camps program which starts at the Prep level and culminates in an Urban Camp for our senior students
- Preparation for Puberty for Grades 5 and 6
- Opportunities to connect with the wider Maldon community including visits to the Maldon Hospital aged care residents, the RSL Remembrance Day writing competition, learning to play lawn bowls and croquet or visiting the Mens Shed during our Clubs program and learning a brass instrument via the Brass Band program
- Student Leadership opportunities as part of Young Leaders @Maldon P.S.
- Instrumental music lessons by an outside provider
- Interschool sporting opportunities in areas such as soccer, athletics, swimming and cross country
- A kinder to Prep transition program and a Grade 6 to secondary school transition program
- A bi-annual school concert where students showcase their talents
- Library sessions for all students
- Book week dress up day
- Buddies sessions where every student in Prep/1 has a buddy in Grade 5/6 and weekly sessions are spent getting to know their buddy
